Practice Summary:

 Teresa is a native Austinite and a two-time graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.  Her  practice is uniquely focused on commercial loans, secured transactions and loan-related litigation.  She is one of most experienced attorneys in Texas in the area of accounts receivable purchasing transactions, commonly known as factoring.  Teresa’s clients include several prominent factoring companies, whom Teresa represents as both transactional and litigation counsel.   Her practice area includes:

  

  • Loan document negotiation and preparation from creditors’ perspective
  • Pre- and post-judgment asset seizure
  • Working with/assisting turnover receivers
  • Loan work-outs on behalf of creditors
  • Asset foreclosure – both real and personal property
  • Collecting pledged receivables
  • Bankruptcy Chapter 11 and 7 representation from creditor perspective, including defending preference actions, obtaining relief from automatic stay and objecting to bankruptcy discharge
  • Substantial experience litigating a wide range of complex commercial disputes, construction matters, and business torts
